Ce... means 'this' or 'that', and is used in front of masculine words

ce musée
ce livre this museum, that museum
this book, that book
If the masculine word starts with a vowel or the letter -h, cet is used instead. This -t is always pronounced

cet enfant
cet hôtel
In front of feminine words, you use cette

cette carte
cette place this card, that card
this square, that square
To say 'these' and 'those', the word used is ces

ces musées
ces enfants
ces hôtels
ces cartes
You can't use ce, cette or ces on their own, only with a following noun
